35 entered in the Castellet 240

THEELMS has its base at the Paul Ricard circuit. After a first event at the opening of the 2020 season, the paddock returns on August 29 for the Castellet 240. Particularly provided at Spa, the grid will have a more usual contingent of 35 cars. The teams of WEC which had joined forces (Jota in LMP2, two AF Corse cars, Aston Martin Racing and Red River Sport in GTE) will not be there.

In terms of crews, Jean-Eric Vergne will replace Nick de Vries at G-Drive Racing to get used to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, next race on the calendar for many teams. G-Drive will not lose out. Still in LMP2, German Sophia Floersch will make her first appearance in the Richard Mille Racing car, also to prepare for the Le Mans classic.

In the championship, the two United Autosport cars shared the first two rounds. The Oreca N°22 driven by Phil Hanson and Filipe Albuquerque, winner in Belgium, dominates by seven points Will Owen, Alex Brundle and Job Van Uitert, their teammates in the Oreca N°32 winners during the premiere at Castellet . The #39 Graff Oreca driven by Thomas Laurent, Alexandre Cougnaud and James Allen completes the podium with eighteen points behind, just ahead of G-Drive Racing.

In LMP3, the No. 2 Ligier crushes the category, taking 52 points out of 52 points. Wayne Boyd, Tom Gamble and Rob Wheldon are already one victory ahead of the reigning champions, Eurointernational with Niko Kari.

In GTE, the Ferrari No. 74 of Kessel Racing driven by Michael Broniszewski, David Perel and Marcos Gomes, winner at Spa, dominates the Castellet winners Michele Beretta and Alessio Picariello at the wheel of the Porsche n°77 of the Proton Competition team.
