Ecurie Scotland aims for the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the ELMS

The return ofAlpine Asked 24 Hours of Le Mans and his arrival in ELMS isn’t the only good news day for endurance fans. Ecurie Scotland will field a BMW Z4 GT3 in the GTC category of the European Championship in which Ollie Millroy, Andrew Smith, Joe Twyman and Alasdair McCaig will compete, who will share the wheel depending on the events contested. Present last year in Blancpain Endurance Series and in British GT, the Scottish team is aiming for the title in the category in order to benefit from an invitation to the 24 2014 Hours of Le Mans in GTE-Am after having won two victories in a row at the Sarthe double clock in 1956 and 1957 with a Jaguar D Type.

“This is an exciting development for Ecurie école.”, commented director Hugh McCaig. “We evaluated different options for 2013 after returning to racing last year, but felt that with the BMW Z4 GT3 and the support of Barwell (Motorsport), we had all the elements in place to achieve success. We also have ambitious young pilots who have proven their commitment to this program by making unparalleled efforts in an extremely complicated economic climate. We ultimately want to return to Le Mans and this is a fantastic step in that direction. »
