ELMS – Beche disappointed with his qualifications with TDS Racing

After having achieved promising times in the free practice of theELMS on the Red Bull Ring, Mathias Beche hoped to place the No. 03 Oreca 1-Nissan at the front of the line for the start of the three-hour event. Nevertheless, the Swiss is three tenths behind the provisional pole won by theAlpine by Nelson Panciatici, even if the No. 36 could well lose its best time. This difference in performance disappoints the resident of Thiriet by TDS Racing who is fully aware of the importance of the result while the French team is leading the Championship with 10 points ahead of Signatech-Alpine and Race Performance.

“The track has evolved a lot since yesterday when we had good settings”, explains Mathias Bèche who will carry out the first relays this afternoon. “Conditions are expected to change again this afternoon. The car was oversteering, which made the last sector particularly difficult. I am clearly disappointed with his qualifying when we were hoping for more, especially since it is very difficult to overtake on this circuit. The circuit is not too abrasive, the left front tire will be the most stressed. We will wait to see how the race develops with the traffic and the degradation of our opponents' tires. »
