ELMS – Gulf Racing enters its Vantage GTE

Even if Gulf Racing saved the furniture last year at Aston Martin Racing by winning the GTE Am Drivers' Trophy with Stuart Hall and Jamie Campbell-Walter, driver boss Roald Goethe felt it would be better to compete in theELMS, its schedule of five events being less restrictive than that of the WEC which has eight. “I was disappointed last year to have to miss a few events because of my professional obligations and I therefore decided to enter this year in a Championship where I could be present at each start. »

Roald Goethe has therefore recalled Stuart Hall for a new season, but the crew will now be completed by Dan Brown in place of Jamie Campbell-Walter. Gulf Racing was limited in its choice by the regulations prohibiting the presence of a plantinum driver and a gold driver on the same car in GTE. But the new recruit has to his credit a good experience of GT competition, having notably participated in the Blancpain Endurance Series in 2012 with AF Corse or in British GT last year on a BMW Z4. “There is a big difference between the GT3 and the GTE”, however, underlines the Briton. “GT3s are fantastic cars to drive, but the Vantage GTE is something else. It has very few driving aids and my development will be optimized with this complete program. »

Le Gulf Racing est également présent aux essais officiels du Paul Ricard avec une Porsche 911 GT3 RSR confiée aux mains de Michael Wainwright, Adam Caroll et Ryan Cullen.
