In 2011, having won numerous titles in the Eurocup Mégane Trophy, TDS Racing (which will take the name Thiriet by TDS Racing from 2012), launches itself into Endurance, via the Le Mans Series. The choice was then made to trust the Oreca 03 chassis. A judicious choice, since after finishing third in the LM P2 in the European series in the first year, Xavier Combet's team won the title the following year, and this while finishing second in the category at 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Last year, on the other hand, luck turned its back on the French team. The fact remains that the results of the three years spent with Oreca are very brilliant, with six victories, Team and Driver titles in the Le Mans Series in 2012, an honorary title of vice-champion last year and a podium in Sarthe two years ago.
This year, however, a new page in the history of Thiriet by TDS Racing in Endurance opens. The French team will indeed line up in ELMS as well as at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (if the invitation request submitted to the ACO selection committee is accepted) a chassis from the Onroak Automotive workshops. The fact remains that in 2014, the Sarthe manufacturer, owned by Jacques Nicolet, offered Morgan LM P2s (open prototype) and Ligiers for sale. The latter, closed, has not yet taken to the track.
The French Pierre Thiriet (24 years old) and Ludovic Badey (33 years old) are the first two drivers confirmed in this new adventure.
