The former F1 driver and the former goalkeeper of the French football team will enter the ELMS scene in 2016 with two cars.

ELMS – Le Panis-Barthez Competition between LM P2 and LM P3

The new structure of Olivier Panis and Fabien Barthez is now on track. The two former residents of AKKA-ASP in the French Championship FFSAGT are embarking this season on the adventure of the Panis-Barthez Competition, project unveiled in 2015 and which will be supported on a technical level by the Toulouse team Tech 1 Racing.

It's on the European stage Le Mans Series that the team will line up in 2016 with two Ligier prototypes, a JS P2 and a JS P3. The LM P2 will be led by Fabien Bartholomew, 2013 French FFSA GT champion alongside Morgan Moullin-Traffort, while Eric Debard, 2009 winner of the French series, will be one of the drivers of Onroak's LM P3. Olivier Panis will officiate as Team Principal and will be helped with sports management by Renaud Derlot, European champion F3 2002.

“My role is to supervise the project as a whole and transmit my field experience, emphasizes Panis. At the same time, Renaud is responsible for directing the sporting part, detecting future drivers and being in charge of coordination with the various stakeholders. »

The team will also be a candidate for the next 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 18-19) whose entry list will be revealed on 5 February next by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, during its traditional press conference.

After having carried out a test session in December in Navarra in Spain, the Panis-Barthez Compétition will line up in the Prologue of theELMS on March 22 and 23 at Paul-Ricard (Var) before the season opener on April 15 and 16 at Silverstone in Great Britain.
