ELMS – Ragues relaunched by Newblood by Morand Racing?

His recent participation in ELMS with NewBlood by Morand Racing allowed him to return to the path of victory by winning the race at Paul Ricard, place of his ELMS title in 2013, and a podium at Estoril last week, which allowed the team to win the third place in the championship. These results underline Pierre?s credibility and reputation as one of the best endurance drivers.

Pierre, it’s been a busy year for you. Are you satisfied with your personal results?

It was an incredible year for me, very motivating for a driver, a great reward. I had the opportunity to run in endurance, including Le Mans, as well as my first races in rally with podiums to boot. I feel like I learned a lot this year and I feel like a more accomplished rider now.

You seemed very strong in the recent ELMS events at Paul Ricard and Estoril...

Yes, these two races were certainly the best performances for me this season. I was very comfortable in the NewBlood by Morand Racing team and the car was competitive. I personally delivered two solid performances and it was incredible to help the team to victory at Paul Ricard and second place at Estoril, 35 seconds behind the winners. Together we improved our championship position and finished on the podium for the season, a great result. I would also like to congratulate and thank Benoit Morand for this opportunity but also for the prize he received for man of the year in ELMS.

How did you manage to alternate from one cockpit to another this year?

It was surprisingly quite easy, and as I said earlier, I think it was an asset for me this year. The rally was very motivating and I was happy to get on the podium in a few regional rallies at the start of the year. I also collaborated with three endurance teams this season, including Signatech-Alpine with whom I won the ELMS title in 2013, Larbre Competition at Le Mans and NewBlood by Morand Racing in ELMS. I received a lot of support this year fromAlpine of which I am Ambassador, of my partners Group Auto, Sparco and the leader in simulation Ellip6.

What’s next for you?

I am working with my management to see what options are available for the end of the season and for 2015. I think I have shown my rapid adaptation this season and my ability to juggle between disciplines. I still have a lot to give so I hope we will have great opportunities in the future.
