ELMS – Sébastien Loeb Racing concluded in style

Victory at the 4 Hours of Estoril seemed destined for Signatech-Alpine, but a very heavy penalty imposed on Oliver Webb caused the A450b to fall in the rankings. If Philippe Sinault's team was able to salvage a fifth place to win the title, first place went to Sébastien's L'Oreca 03R-Nissan Loeb Racing of Vincent Capillaire and Jimmy Eriksson who won with half a minute ahead of the Morgan-Judd of Morand Racing driven by Pierre Ragues, Christian Klien and Gary Hirsch.

This first success in LMP2 is enough to put a smile on Vincent Capillaire's face, who couldn't have hoped for a better way to end the season. “It is thanks to all the work accomplished this year that the team was able to secure this great victory, everything has always worked well until now”, declared the Frenchman. ?It?s not just about one driver but about a whole team. Everyone was extremely efficient. My teammate Jimmy Eriksson had a superb race this weekend. We knew his top speed in GP3 but in this discipline he had a lot to learn, between traffic management and driver changes. He did a hell of a job, hats off. »

Jimmy Eriksson could also be satisfied with his discovery since he immediately scored a victory in ELMS for his debut in the discipline. “Rather accustomed to competition in car, this race confronted me with new challenges. I had to adapt to the car, the tires and the engine. The team entrusted me with the car during the two free practice sessions as well as for qualifying. It was great of them because I was able to spend more time than expected behind the wheel and it was the best way to get to grips with the car. In racing, what most differentiates single-seaters from endurance is traffic management. The whole team prepared me really well for this challenge and I am very grateful to them today. I hope to have the opportunity to race endurance again soon. »
