Last Friday, the brand new Porsche GT3 R Hybrid welcomed an unusual guest: Nico Hulkenberg.
The German driver was able to complete three laps of the Nordschleife at the wheel of a car in which part of the hybrid system, the inertia wheel installed inside the passenger compartment, was designed by Williams Hybrid power.
“An exceptional car, fascinating technology and an incomparable circuit, exclaims the German pilot. I was impressed by how well the hybrid system worked. As for the circuit, it is unique and cannot be compared to any other in the world. This is certainly not the last time I drive here. In slow corners, the 911 is not that far from a F1. The mechanical grip is impressive.”
On May 15 and 16, while Nico will be in Monaco, the Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid will compete in the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring. The beast will be entrusted for the occasion to a crew made up of Jorg Bergmeister, Marc Ragginger, Richard Lietz and Marco Hozler.
