While he had long been expected to join the F1 and becoming the new driver of Brawn GP, ex-Honda F1, Bruno Senna finally saw the doors of the premier category closed in his face, following the unexpected renewal of his compatriot, Rubens Barrichello.

Looking for a new discipline to turn to, the Brazilian contacted Hugues de Chaunac's team to drive one of the two Courage-Oreca LC70s entered in LMS this year on the Paul Ricard circuit, at? opportunity for preparatory tests.

It was with car No. 10, which he shared with Soheil Ayari and Stéphane Ortelli, that Senna completed several laps on Saturday at midday, then others during the night, without any major problem. The trio will complete no less than 500 laps in the end, while the second crew composed of Nicolas lapierre and Olivier Panis will achieve nearly 300 with the added bonus of the best times of the two days. He will also have greatly appreciated this test session on the ultra-modern Castelet circuit within Team Oreca.

“When I arrived here I discovered a totally different world, these tests were very enriching. I reported my feelings in the car to the team, who asked me for advice on chassis settings, and I also helped the engineers to obtain as much data as possible on the tires and consumption of gasoline. », declared Senna at the end of these two days of testing.

“I ran for the first time at night! It's a real change from anything I've experienced before and I really liked it. My number one goal clearly remains F1, but I must say that endurance races can be very interesting. », concluded the Brazilian, an excellent candidate for the 24 Hours of Le Mans according to de Chaunac.

Bruno Senna is also “in talks” with Mercedes to drive a C-Class in the coming days DTM entered this season in the German touring car championship, on the Hockenheim circuit.
