The 2010 LMS calendar revealed

The calendar of the Le Mans Series is now known (click here) ! After the traditional tests at the Paul-Ricard circuit in Le Castellet (March 7-8), the prototypes and GTs will return to the Var for the first race of the LMS season, the weekend of April 9-11, 2010. This race will be the longest of the season since it will last 8 hours, instead of the traditional 1000 km (or 6 hours).

The season will then continue in Belgium for the 1000 km of Spa-Francorchamps (May 7-9), before taking a break due to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The season will resume in mid-summer in Portugal, for the Algarve 1000 km (July 15-17), which will feature a night race.

Nighttime conditions will also be in place in Hungary since the Le Mans Series will settle down at the Hungaroring on August 21 and 22. This is the first time that the endurance championship will come to Hungary.

Finally, like this year, the season will end in Great Britain, for the Autosport 1000 km of Silverstone, from September 10 to 12. For this last event, the drivers will return to a daytime race.

Note that during the 8 Hours of Le Castellet, the distribution of points will be the same as during the other events, since the traditional duration must be exceeded by 50% to see the points double. The Var race will begin at the end of the morning and end at sunset, around 19 p.m.

Also note that initially, a date was planned for November. It has disappeared in favor of the 1000 km of the Hungaroring, which will be held in August.
