The ELMS comes back to life with a superb field in 2013

29 cars, in four different categories, will find themselves on the five starting grids of the European Le Mans Series for the 2013 season. The 22 competing teams will represent nine countries.

The ELMS comes back to life with a superb field in 2013

THEELMS has revealed the list of teams entered for the 2013 season. With 29 cars and 22 teams, nine countries will be represented: France, Great Britain, Belgium, Ireland, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Italy, Netherlands and the United States.

The best represented category will be LMP2 with eleven cars led by reigning champion Thiriet by TDS Racing who will carry the coveted number 1 at the series launch at Silverstone. The French team will, however, have to do battle with a certain number of protagonists such as its compatriots from Signatech and Sébastien Loeb Racing, the British from Greaves Motorsport, Jota Sport and Orex Competition. The Belgians from Boutsen Ginion Racing and the Swiss with Race Performance and Morand Racing as well as the Luxembourgers from DKR Engineering will be there for the full season. The four chassis present ORECA, Zytek, HPD and Morgan, will be powered by Nissan, Judd and Honda. 

In LMPC, the three cars entered by Team ORECA Challenge promise great rivalry within the French team, great fights to win the title at the end of the five races of the season.

The Grand Touring cars will certainly enrich the show with, among the ten entered in LMGTE, no less than six Ferrari 458 Italia, trois Porsche 911 GT3 RSR et la seule et unique Chevrolet Corvette C6-ZR1 du Team Larbre Compétition (FRA). RAM Racing (GB), JMW Motorsport (GB), AF Corse (ITA) et Kessel Racing (CH) représenteront la marque au cheval cabré, pendant que IMSA Performance MATMUT (FR), ProspeedCompetition (BEL) and Autorlando Sport (ITA) will respond, with a Porsche each.

In LMGTC, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche and Audi will battle to win the category. The Dutch team Kox Racing will enter the only Lamborghini Gallardo throughout the season. The Italians of AF Corse will add two Ferrari 458 Italia to their two GTE entries, Autorlando a Porsche 911 GT3 R and the Americans of Momo Megatron DF1 will have an Audi R8 LMS.
