Loïc Duval enchanted by the 908

Having just returned from Japan where he was carrying out tests for the new Super GT season, Loïc duval rushed into the cramped seat of the Peugeot 908, a car according to him, breathtaking:

?During my first stint, I was impressed by the car, confides the Frenchman. I expected it to perform well, but when you're in the seat, you really feel it! My second day aboard the Peugeot also went well. I had softer tires than the day before and I was able to attack more. This allowed me to better assess the level of grip, to push the limits a little further. I am continuing to get my bearings on different points: changing gear ratios, steering, or even the use of traction control. I feel better and better in the car: I had a click in the morning, as there can be at different stages when you discover a car. I still have room to spare. My times have improved and they will become more and more regular as time goes on. This is a contact that completely meets my expectations. »

At the end of these two days of testing, the Peugeot 908 from the Var team crossed the 4000 km mark traveled since its receipt. Taming the beast being for the moment the main goal of the French team.

“The track was green and cold, explains Technical Director David Floury. This is not representative of what we may experience in the future so we continued to assimilate new things: this is valid for the team and the drivers. This translates into driving on the track, with traffic management, but also interventions in the pits. Olivier and Nicolas have completed phase 2 of their discovery. Loïc adapted to the car without any problem, but that doesn't surprise us. »

The crew finally set the second best time, not far from the Oreca 01 AIM, but panicking the clock was not the objective of this session.
