Nephew: the ELMS has found the right formula

THEELMS seems to have found good stability in 2015 by offering a schedule identical to last year made up of 5 events lasting 4 hours. At mid-season, the European ChampionshipEndurance allowed three different teams to win: Greaves Motorsport at Silverstone, Thiriet by TDS Racing at Imola (Italy) and Jota Sport at Red Bull Ring (Austria), which offers a season whose outcome remains uncertain.

“For three years, we have worked hard to ensure that the ELMS regains the place it deserved in Europe, and in 2015 we are once again welcoming great teams and great drivers of all nationalities and organizing races on five of the most beautiful European circuits. The quality of the grid during the round in Austria offered a superb show for the 12 visitors who came to the Red Bull Ring », indicated Gérard Neveu, the director of Le Mans Endurance Management, on the official website of the ELMS.

The latter welcomes the report from the teams who also benefit from this formula. “Since the resumption of the ELMS we have been able to adapt our event to the requirements of our customers who are the teams and drivers and we offer them the most complete packages available in European endurance. On the one hand, the “gentlemen” pilots appreciate the two-day meetings, because they are largely businessmen and their time is limited, and on the other hand, the series is a fantastic launching pad for drivers who want to pursue a career in endurance. We have seen this with drivers such as Brendon Hartley who is today a professional pilot at Porsche or Harry Tincknell at Nissan. The change from the racing format to 4 hours in 2014 was a real success with the teams, and we will continue to develop the ELMS championship by always remaining attentive to them to move forward together”, added Gérard Neveu.
