Nicolas Marroc: “Why not the title? »

After having suffered in Karting, in Campus Formula, in Formula Renault 2.0 or even in F3, Nicolas Marroc turned in 2011 towardsEndurance, while competing in the GP2 Series grand final in Abu Dhabi. For his debut, the native of La Roche-Sur-Yon did not disappoint, winning two victories in Formula Le Mans, just as many in GT Open, and finishing fourth in the GTE-Am category at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, without forgetting his appearance in GTE Pro under the colors of Luxury Racing in ILMC. Performances that did not escape Sébastien Loeb and Dominique Heintz, the founders of Sébastien Loeb Racing, who decided to entrust him with the wheel of the Oreca 03 which they will enter in ELMS. “He is young, efficient and already has some experience thanks to Formula Le Mans, underlines the latter. It was not easy to find a “silver” driver with so many qualities at that age. Nicolas showed his burst of speed: he has the perfect profile. »

A godsend for this young Frenchman who, at 25 years old, seems to want to enter Endurance in the long term. “Doing a full season in prototype was my goal, after having touched a bit of everything last year, he exults. My experience of car will be an asset for driving the Oreca 03-Nissan. I have already piloted an FLM prototype (several victories, a pole and two lap records. Editor’s note) last year. We will clearly be able to fight for the final ELMS podium and why not the title. I am completely confident in my technical abilities, and I am physically and mentally ready. This is my opportunity to prove my worth. I will be the youngest driver in the crew, it's a real opportunity, I intend to seize my chance! ». The title ? The objective is clear. With an LMP2 field whose level is very high, the task promises to be difficult. But in his quest, Nicolas should be able to count on “very experienced” teammates if the team?s press release is to be believed.
