Quifel ASM absent from the 6 Hours of Imola

Olivier Pla and Miguel Amaral were entered in the Zytek 09S n°20 of the Quifel ASM for the 6 Hours of Imola which will take place on the first weekend of July. But the Portuguese team announced that it was withdrawing from the entry list, suffering from a reliability problem with its prototype.

The Zytek 09S n°20 has indeed experienced significant mechanical failures this season. The reliability of the engine is in question, after having caused two successive retirements at the 1000 km of Spa-Francorchamps and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The LMP1 was not even able to pass the four-hour mark during the Le Mans event.

The team which won the LMP2009 category title in the Le Mans Series in 2 hopes to be back for the 6 Hours of Silverstone which will take place from September 9 to 11. Quifel ASM has reaffirmed its commitment to competing in endurance races beyond 2012.
