Tom Kimber-Smith stays with Greaves

Tom Kimber-Smith has extended his contract with Greaves Motorsport to compete in the 2012 ELMS season. The LMP2 category champion will, however, not be entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the British team.

Tom Kimber-Smith stays with Greaves

After winning the Drivers' (with Karim Ojjeh) and Teams titles in the LMP2 category of the LMS, Tom Kimber-Smith is extending his contract for one season with the Peterborough team and will compete in the 2012 season of the LMS. ELMS alongside Alex Brundle and a third driver who remains to be determined. If the Briton shone at the 24 Hours of Le Mans alongside Olivier Lombard and Karim Ojjeh, he will however have to give up his place during the Le Mans event.

Although he will not compete in the Sarthe event again aboard the No. 41 Zytek-Nissan, Tom Kimber-Smith remains satisfied with the program for the 2012 season. “I’m excited to continue racing with Greaves Motorsport next season.”, comments the Briton. “The team has done a fantastic job developing a reliable and fast car for 2011. This has been a major part of our success and we have benefited from it this year. I am very much looking forward to starting my program in 2012.”
