The Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix Formula 1 should have taken place this weekend, but the tragic floods which hit northern Italy forced the organizers to cancel the event. A wise decision followed by a surge of solidarity from the teams and drivers. Yuki Tsunoda was spotted on the streets of Faenza to help residents clean up the damage caused by rising waters, while Ferrari and F1 each donated one million euros to finance relief operations.
Max Verstappen and its eSports team, Team Redline, also wanted to help while providing some entertainment to fans around the world. This is how the double Dutch world champion will organize a simracing event with the return of the program “Real Racers Never Quit”, broadcast on the Team Redline Twitch platform on Sunday May 21, from 15:30 p.m.
In the iRacing simulation game, around thirty drivers will compete online on different vehicles and circuits. The objective will obviously be to collect donations throughout the live broadcast, to help disaster victims and relief efforts in the Emilia-Romagna region. Several drivers responded, such as Antonio Felix da Costa, Shane van Gisbergen, Felipe Drugovich and Isack Hadjar. Naturally, Max Verstappen will also be there.
