FR Europe – Leclerc above the rest at Mugello

Nothing could resist Arthur Leclerc this Saturday. Author of a thunderous start from 4th position after a start carried out under safety car regime, the Monegasque from Prema Racing tamed the pouring rain of Mugello to win the first of the three races of the weekend in Italy.

2nd at the first corner, Leclerc then got stuck in the exhausts of his teammate Oliver Rasmussen before overtaking him on the 5th lap and taking the lead.

He also did well to get ahead, since the race direction imposed a 10-second penalty on him for overtaking under the yellow flag. But with a lead of more than 20 seconds over Juri Vips (KIC Motorsport) and Oliver Rasmussen, the two men who completed the podium, this was enough to maintain the victory.

The successful operation is complete for the young Monegasque, who will also be tested Monday and Tuesday by his Prema team during official end-of-season testing in FIA F3. He has in fact taken big points from the championship leader, the Brazilian Gianluca Petecof, only 4th ahead of the Frenchman Pierre-Louis Chovet (VAR).

The weekend definitely looks positive for Charles' brother, as he will start from pole during races 2 and 3.
