The 79th Grand Prix de Pau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) will be awarded at the end of the Euroformula Open race. The Spanish championship had already taken place in the streets of the Béarnais city in 2019, with the moving victory of Billy Monger. This time, there will be 12 to compete aboard Dallara F3 including the Russian Vladislav Lomko, who took out a French license due to his place of residence (Paris).

Tourism is also making a comeback which promises to be electric. The World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) will launch its 2022 season with the presence of double title holder, Yann Ehrlacher (Lynk & Co). The Alsatian will be supported by his uncle Yvan Muller, who knows the 2,760 km urban track well from his rich career.

For its first campaign as an FIA-badged series, the Electric Touring Car World Cup (ETCR) will also launch its 2022 season in Pau. Spectators will notably support the Frenchman Jean-Karl Vernay (Hyundai), vice-champion in 2021 and revenge to beat the electric Cupras, one of which will be driven by Adrien Tambay, the son of the former winner in F1 Patrick Tambay.

At the national level, the French Formula 4 Championship will hold its second round at the foot of the Pyrenees in 2022, a few weeks after the Nogaro meeting. Proof of the attractiveness of the training discipline, the young Australian Hugh Barter leads the general classification ahead of the Frenchman Pierre-Alexandre Provost and the Japanese Souta Arao.

Finally, Twin'Cup races will allow 54 gentlemen drivers from the southwest (including 48 from Béarn) to have fun in the Adour Océan Cup. This competition takes its name from a popular race in Pau from 1968 to 1977.
