For a little over two years, Marc Márquez has been in a difficult situation. Always bothered by different concerns like diplopia or more recently his 5th operation since November 2019 and on the sidelines since last May, the Spaniard has helplessly watched the difficult season of his Honda team, still in search of its first victory since October 2021 and the success of the six-time world champion at Mugello.

While he follows the races from his home where he continues his convalescence in the hope of returning to the circuits this season, Marc Márquez will be present at the next Grand Prix in Austria (August 21) to be as close as possible to his family.

« Honda is going through a tough time. I talk a lot with my team and try to understand the 2022 bike, the situation and what is happening, explained the Catalan in an interview for the Moto GP website. That's why I'm going to go to Austria, to talk to everyone and to meet the Japanese HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) staff to work on the future. We all work together, we win together, we lose together, and we will come back together."

Marc Márquez back in 2022?

If for the moment no date for a potential return has been set, Marc Márquez hopes that his body will allow him to get back on his machine before the end of the season. However, the Spaniard will not take any risks to return as quickly as possible, preferring to listen to his body and especially the advice of his medical team.

« When the doctor tells me 'the bone is repaired, you can intensify your rehabilitation', then I will intensify my rehabilitationHe says. As soon as I feel ready to ride a motorcycle at an acceptable level, I will start riding because to reach that 100% you have to ride a motorcycle. When you are on a motorcycle, you use specific muscles. My main goal, and realistic when talking with the doctors, is to try to race this year. It could be the last two, maybe, or the last one in Valencia to get back into the rhythm."
