Andreas Mikkelsen easy winner in Hungary

On a rally where asphalt was sometimes difficult to find under the mud and leaves, Andreas Mikkelsen (Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo) did not miss his return to competition as part of the Hungarian Rally, counting for the European Rally Championship ERC.

The Norwegian, who quickly took the lead in the race yesterday morning, saw the threat of Alexey Lukyanuk (Citroën C3 R5) fly away after the penalty for being ahead of the Russian, before containing the attacks of Craig Breen.

Mikkelsen won in the end with a 1'32" lead over Grégoire Munster (Hyundai i20 R5), author of a solid performance on Hungarian roads and winner in ERC1 Junior, and Spaniard Efren Llanera (Citroën C3 R5) .

Slowed down earlier in the race by punctures, Oliver Solberg (Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo) tried everything to get back to Llanera, but failed 4″5 from the podium. He precedes Niki Mayr-Melnhof (Ford Fiesta R5 MKII) and Norbert Herczig (Volkswagen Polo GTI R5), in contention for the podium on his home soil before a puncture in the penultimate SS.

Author of a good performance in the second stage after a spin and punctures earlier in the event, Yoann Bonato places his Citroën C3 R5 in the top 10, four positions ahead of Alexey Lukyanuk who will retain control of the championship despite this poor performance.

Ken Torn wins ERC3 and ERC3 Junior in his Ford Fiesta Rally4.
