ERC – Jan Kopecky remains the master of Barum Rally

Jan Kopecky added his name to the Barum Rally prize list for the seventh time after his successes in 2004, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016. The Skoda Fabia R5 driver won his home event, counting towards the European Championship Rallies ERC, ahead of Alexey Lukyanuk (Ford Fiesta R55) by more than 5″.

Kopecky only left the final special to Roman Kresta (Skoda Fabia R5) this Sunday, the latter taking the third step of the podium in this sector at the expense of Tomas Kostka (Skoda Fabia R5). Kajetan Kajetanowicz (Ford Fiesta R5) finished in fifth place, after taking advantage of the puncture and the abandonment during the day of Vaclav Pech (Ford Fiesta R5), third this morning.

Marijan Griebel (Skoda Fabia R5) finished sixth but won the U28 title. A coronation which will allow him to compete in a European round in WRC en 2018. Bryan Bouffier (Ford Fiesta R5) conclut à la dixième place, alors que Romain Dumas (Porsche 911 R-GT) pointe à la 59e position finale, après avoir notamment connu plusieurs crevaisons, et un souci de support moteur.
