ERC – Jan Kopecky, solid winner in the Azores

He resisted. Jan Kopecky on his Skoda Fabia S2000 managed to maintain a comfortable distance from Craig Breen (Peugeot 207 S2000) throughout the third and final stage of the rally of the Azores, signing almost 5 of the 8 scratches of the day. The Czech, reigning IRC vice-champion, at the same time achieves a third success in four events and consolidates his place at the top of the Drivers' ranking.

About twenty seconds behind the winner of the day, the Irishman Breen was unable to do anything to come back and still had to settle for a second place, the third in a row. Constant throughout the rally, the Portuguese Ricardo Moura (Skoda Fabia S2000) finished third in front of his home crowd. On his 207 S2000, Jérémi Ancian signs the best performance of the French drivers.

On his Citroën DS3 RRC, Robert Kubica was finally able to reach the finish of a rally, having always abandoned since the Var last year. On this last day, he scored a scratch during the 16th special. But the Pole, very energetic during the first day, ultimately had to settle for sixth place, more than 9 minutes behind the day's winner.
