IRC: Death of Gareth Roberts, co-driver of Craig Breen

The Rally Internazionale Di Sicilia was not on the British duo's schedule, but the HRT Motorsport team allowed them to be at the start of the Targa Florio in order to demonstrate their potential behind the wheel of the Peugeot 207 S2000. After seven stages, both drivers were in sixth position in the general classification. They had a difficult start to the weekend following a poor choice of tires in the first special.

Gareth Roberts and Craig Breen began their collaboration in 2009. The two drivers quickly found success, notably winning the FIA WRC Academy Cup in 2011.

Gareth Roberts died from his injuries and the aftermath of the rally was canceled as a mark of respect for the Briton.
