IRC / Mikkelsen ready for the Tour de Corsica

Last weekend in Argentina, Andreas Mikkelsen proved that he was capable of fighting with the best. By fighting for seconds with his teammate at VW Sébastien Ogier, the Norwegian showed a burst of speed equivalent to a driver who will certainly be one of the favorites for the title next year. And in addition to having proven to himself that he was capable of going extremely fast, he also occupies first place in the IRC with 18 points ahead of Juho Hänninen and 21 over Jan Kopecky. This advance, in addition to giving him confidence, leaves him a slight margin for error. In summary, it is without pressure that the reigning champion will travel to the Isle of Beauty for the fourth time in his career.

“We had good weekends in the Canary Islands and Ireland”, explains the Norwegian. “Our results on these two asphalt rallies allow me to approach Corsica with a lot of confidence. I like the special stages and I have always had good races there. In addition, many special stages have been retained from last year. And regarding the last stage near Bastia, we will take the stages of the Ronde De La Giraglia that I won in 2011. So we have the knowledge of the terrain on our side. I'm looking forward to seeing Dani at the start. He will be a reference for us since he is a top driver in the WRC. It will be interesting to fight with him to compare our level to his. »
