IRC / Tour de Corse: An updated classic

The 55th edition of the Tour de Corse will take place over three days and its route will be reversed compared to last year. While usually, the rally started from Calvi to finish in Ajaccio, the 2012 edition will see a departure from Ajaccio and a passage through Bastia which has not happened since 1994. Saturday will take place entirely at Cap Corse, a first since 1975.

As for the competitors, 38 crews are currently entered in the IRC. Among all these people, we will obviously find the protagonists in the title, namely the Skodas of Andreas Mikkelsen and Jan Kopecky. However, other protagonists could well come and play spoilsport including several French people: Julien Maurin (Fiesta S2000), Bryan Bouffier, Mathieu Arzeno or even Pierre Campana who will be at the start on Peugeot 207 S2000. François Delecour will also be present on a Renault Megan. In addition to the French, Dani Sordo (Mini Cooper SPC), Giandomenico Basso (Fiesta S2000) and Craig Breen (207 S2000) should also try to join the party.

Discover in the new issue of AUTOhebdo available on newsstands from today a 16-page supplement on the Tour de Corse guide.
