Yet confirmed a little over a month ago, Rally of the Azores will not take place from May 6 to 8. Given the current situation in the Portuguese archipelago, and in particular on the island of São Miguel, Grupo Desportivo Comercial, the organizer, was obliged to postpone the 55th edition of the event.
« Grupo Desportivo Comercial is in discussions with the FIA, the Portuguese federation and Eurosport Events to find a new date for the rally ", Reads the statement.
In response to a request from the Regional Health Authority of the Azores islands, the 55th Azores Rally has been postponed, new date is under discussion.

With the Azores Rally postponed, the start of the 2021 ERC season has once again been postponed. This was initially scheduled to take place last March during the Fafe Rally before being postponed to May on the archipelago.
As a result, the resumption of the ERC is rescheduled from June 18 to 20 for Poland.
