Solberg: “A new experience”

Petter Solberg, after driving a Citroën C4 WRC this season, should, in all likelihood, move to the DS3 WRC next year. But until then, the Norwegian will have the opportunity to take the wheel of another car of rally of the PSA group, the Peugeot 207 Super 2000.

The 2003 World Rally Champion will be alongside Bryan Bouffier and Stéphane Sarrazin, who will also defend the colors of Peugeot France. Furthermore, Thierry Neuville, Guy Wilks and Bruno Magalhaes will also be behind the wheel of a 207 S2000 at the next Monte-Carlo.

“I was really surprised when Olivier Quesnel, director of Peugeot Sport, contacted me and asked if I wanted to drive in the Monte-Carlo Rally. Of course I could only accept such a proposal », Comments Petter Solberg, whose best result in Monte-Carlo was a fifth place in 2008, during the last year of the event in the WRC.

“The official team will prepare the car, and they wanted me for this event to ensure a good result for the team,” continues Solberg. For me, it means more kilometers behind the wheel of a rally car, as well as a new experience, since I have never driven in IRC before. There is also live coverage of the stages, which is going to be exciting! »
