Thierry Neuville desperate!

“The first special ended with around fifteen kilometers of uninterrupted descent,” he says. “The road was very dirty, covered with gravel spread on the surface by the passage of the first competitors. Less than 3 km from the finish, we had to cross a small bridge with a parapet, preceded by a sharp turn. We arrived quite quickly. When I jumped on the middle pedal, the brakes did not respond and the pedal dug into the floor. The car understeered. I found myself in the gravel. To get out of it, I pulled the handbrake, but he too reacted late. When the car turned, it was too late: the side hit the parapet and the attachments of the two right wheels gave way. I tried to continue in slow motion. In vain. It was finished. »

He continues: “I had listened to the cautionary instructions. I wasn't driving too fast. Previously, I didn't get a single heat. The intermediate times show that I was far from my limits. My intention was to get my bearings in the first stages, then, if I felt comfortable, to gradually increase the pace. I did not have the opportunity to implement my strategy. It?s much worse than being disappointed: I?m desperate. »
