The Asian Le Mans Series 2023 will be without Ben Barnicoat. After being announced by 99 Racing in LM P2, British pilot withdraws, as he announced on his Twitter account: “ A contractual conflict with my other racing and testing commitments means I will not take part (in the Asian Le Mans Series). » Barnicoat did not add further information. The official Lexus driver therefore leaves an empty seat alongside the former driver of Formula 1 Nikita mazepin and the Spaniard Félix Porteiro.

With Mike conway and Jack Hawksworth, the driver recently distinguished himself at the 24 Hours of Daytona by finishing in third position in the GTD category with Vasser Sullivan and his No. 3 Lexus RC F GT12. In 2022, he ranked 2nd in the GTD Pro Drivers' Championship with the same team.

The third driver of the 99 Racing crew is not yet known, with the Asian Le Mans Series taking place from February 11 to 19, 2023.
