Super GT announces carbon neutral fuel in 2023

The promoter of the Super GT series, the GT Association, has announced the introduction of carbon neutral fuel “ ETS Renewablaze GTA R100 » developed by Halterman Carless, for all of its cars from 2023. The two companies held a joint press conference this Sunday, April 17, on the occasion of the first round of the Japanese series on the international circuit from Okayama.

From next season therefore, this fuel will be used by all cars participating in official tests as well as the race. For this, GTA has formed a partnership with German fuel manufacturer Halterman Carless, which will supply around 300 liters per year.

GTA announced that the fuel, which does not use fossil fuels as raw materials, will be named “Carbon Neutral Fuel”. Currently, 200 liters have been distributed to Toyota, Nissan and Honda, and the first declared after bench tests: “ Some adjustments are required, but it is comparable to high octane unleaded in terms of performance. There is data indicating that it can be used in racing. »

For the GT300 vehicles, GTA will supply fuel to European manufacturers, while track tests are planned from Suzuka next August.
