Roman Kresta (Skoda Fabia S2000), who took the lead in the Barum Rally after the fourth special, encountered mechanical problems in the following sector. These problems were confirmed since the Czech had to retire before SS6, after a problem with the exhaust manifold. Kresta was 2nd just behind new leader Vaclav Pech.
