Juho Hänninen (Skoda) took the scratch in SS2 at Slusovice just ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen (Skoda) who complained about a poor choice of tires. Tomas Kostka (Skoda) handed over the lead of the Barum Rally Zlin to the 2010 champion, losing more than eight seconds despite his third fastest time. Robert Barrable (Skoda) retained his third place with his fourth time.
The road was wet for SS3 at Pindula and Andreas Mikkelsen was able to shine by signing his first scratch of the Czech event one second ahead of Juho Hänninen. The Finn remains in the lead with eight seconds ahead of the reigning champion who snatches second place in the standings from Tomas Kostka who falls to third position ten seconds behind the Norwegian. Local driver Roman Kresta (Skoda) climbs to fourth place with only three tenths ahead of Jan Kopecky (Skoda). Patrik Flodin (Skoda) climbs to seventh position but is already almost a minute behind the leader of the race.
