Rest, Max Verstappen Do not know. The double world champion Formula 1 will be competing this weekend. Not on the circuits, not in F1, but online, during the virtual 6 Hours of Spa this November 5. The Dutchman, a big fan of “simracing”, will be at the start of the 3rd round of the Le Mans Virtual Series, the virtual endurance championship. The pilot Red Bull will compete with the #1 car of the Redline LMP team, alongside Jeffrey Rietveld and Maximilian Benecke.
Max Verstappen will be joined by one of his former friends, Romain Grosjean. The Frenchman, exiled in America with the Andretti team in IndyCar, is also included in the entry list for the 6 Hours of Spa. Owner of his esports team, R8G Esports, he will line up alongside Martin Hemmingsen and Ulas Ozyildorim in the No. 18 R8G Esports LMP car.
In total, 40 cars will compete in two different categories, namely 24 in LMP, with all competitors using the ORECA 07 LMP2, and 16 in GTE, with teams having the choice between the BMW M8, the Porsche 911 RSR, the Ferrari 488 and theAston Martin Vantage. 14 drivers with Pro status will be at the start, such as Verstappen, Grosjean or even Smolyar, Viscaal or Nielsen. The race will take place on the rFactor2 platform, starting at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
