In 2022, the Pikes Peak hill climb (Colorado) will celebrate its 100th edition on June 26. To mark the occasion, Ken Block will participate in the famous “race to the clouds” at the wheel of a strange machine: the Hoonipigasus.
This name is an association between Hoonigan Racing Division, the team founded in 2010 by gymkhana king Ken Block to compete in the WRC and the World Championship of rallycross (World RX), from “Pig”, in reference to the “Pink Pig”, the Porsche 917/20 having played the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1971 with a pink pig livery and “Pegasus”, the symbol of sponsor Mobil 1.
(1/4) Introducing: the Hoonipigasus! This is the hill climb beast that I'll be racing at this year's Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. It's a Porsche 911 SVSR, built by BBi Autosport in partnership with Mobil 1… pic.twitter.com/mb3TSLzmwQ

The decoration was modified by street artist Trouble Andrew, better known in the industry as Guccighost. The Porsche is a four-wheel drive, with a gigantic 1 horsepower engine centrally located. The weight is lowered to 400 kg with the use of carbon and lightweight aerodynamic appendages.
In addition, a suspension system using GPS data from last year's climb will be mounted to adapt the behavior of the wheels on each turn. The trainer BBi Autosport was responsible for preparing the car. BBi Autosport is a Pikes Peak specialist with eight podium finishes and five class wins in Colorado.
"Pikes Peak is the reason I'm a pilot rally, said Ken Block. The list of drivers who raced and won this hill climb includes several of my heroes: Walter Rohrl, Ari Vatanen, Michèle Mouton, Sébastien Loeb and Rod Millen to name a few. I always wanted the chance to race at Pikes Peak and compete for an overall victory.
With our team and BBi Autosport creating this incredible Porsche, we have a good chance of winning, and with Trevor's wild livery, inspired by one of the most famous Porsches in history, we will hardly go unnoticed! I am thrilled to be part of this iconic race and am totally up for the challenge of adding my name to those who have been the fastest overall in the most technically difficult hill climb on the planet. »
Ken Block therefore does not lack ambition. The Californian, an extreme sports specialist, made a short film on the slopes of the 4 meter mountain in 302 with his Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR V2017.
