Ford returns to Pikes Peak in 2024, with the electric F-150 Lightning

After the powerful SuperVan 4.2, which came second in the 2023 edition with Romain Dumas, Ford Performance will try its luck again at Pikes Peak in 2024 with the F-150 Lightning.

In 2024, Ford Performance is making another appointment with Pikes Peak! The oval brand will make its return to Colorado (United States), for the 102nd edition of the most legendary hill climb in the world (June 18 – 23).

However, it will not be with the electric Ford SuperVan 4.2, which finished in 2nd place in the general classification in 2023 with Romain Dumas at the wheel (winner and author of the record in the Open category). The 1400 horsepower monster – who has just broken the lap record for a closed vehicle at Bathurst – will not be traveling to Colorado Spring, because Ford will enter an F-150 Lightning “Electric Demonstrator”.

To face Pikes Peak, the electric pickup should be largely modified by Ford Performance, and if no data has been communicated by the American firm, we can expect extremely boosted power, like aerodynamics. The electric F-150 will logically bear the number… 150. At present, Ford has not specified either the category in which the F-150 Lightning “Electric Demonstrator” will be entered, nor the date of the official presentation of this last.
