After Ford, it's the turn of Hyundai to announce its presence for the 102nd edition of Pikes Peak (Colorado, United States). The Korean manufacturer, via its American branch Hyundai USA, will enter four electric cars – whose characteristics have not yet been revealed – on June 23 for the most legendary hill climb. Hyundai will partner with Bryan Herta Autosport to operate the four vehicles.

Hyundai will present itself with a good line-up: Paul Dallenbach, eleven times winner of the race and record holder of the event in 1993, Robin Shute, four-time winner and current title holder, and especially Dani Sordo. The Spaniard, pilot WRC for the South Korean team, will compete in its first Pikes Peak in 2024. The fourth driver has not yet been announced.

“The driver is one of the most important elements to succeed in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, said Till Wartenberg, Hyundai vice president and head of the N brand. We selected the best experts like Robin Shute and Paul Dallenbach, who have won the event overall and in their category 15 times. These two drivers have an incredible track record and know the climb well. The arrival of Dani Sordo, Hyundai WRC driver, is very interesting and will help us attract a global audience to this hill climb. »
