4 hours from Silverstone – DragonSpeed ​​flies through EL1

The two Oreca 07-Gibsons from the DragonSpeed ​​team dominated the first free practice session for the 4 Hours of Silverstone, the opening round of the European Le Mans Series 2017. At the wheel of the No. 22 entered under the G-Drive Racing banner, Ryo Hirakawa completed a lap of the British track in 1'44"699. The Japanese, who shares the wheel with Memo Rojas and Léo Roussel, improved the benchmark mark established last year by 4”6. This shows the level of performance of these new LM P2s.

In second place, at 0, we find Ben Hanley. Engaged in the No. 980 Pro Algarve Racing Ligier JS P217, Frenchman Andrea Pizzitola completes the top three, but 25”2 behind the best time. The best Dallara P447, the No. 217 of Cetilar Villorba Corse, is fifth at 47 seconds, just behind the No. 2 Oreca 9 of Graff Racing.

In LM P3, United Autosports, the outgoing champion team, climbed to the top of the timesheet. At the wheel of the #3 Ligier JS P2, Sean Rayhall was credited with a 1'54"221. To find traces of the two Norma M30s, you have to go back to 14th and 19th ranks in the category, with an advantage for that of M.Racing – YMR over that of the Oregon Team.

Finally, the Dane Nicki Thiim, at the wheel of theAston Martin Vantage n°90 of TF Sport, was the fastest in GTE in 1'58"771. Followed at 0 »812 and 0 »938 the Aston Martin n°99 of Beechdean AMR and the Ferrari 488 GTE n°55 from Spirit of Race.

The second free practice session is scheduled for tomorrow at 10 a.m. French time
