Nevertheless, the AF Corse n°88 of François Perrodo, Alessio Rovera and Nicklas Nielsen is decidedly fast in qualifying. Despite its Pro-Am status, the Italian LM P2 in French colors has already signed the first two pole positions of the season in WEC. Author of the best time at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the Italian repeated this performance at Imola with a lap in 1:32.269. Pro-Am in good shape since Mathias Beche, poleman for the next round of the season at Castellet, confirmed that the performance of TDS Racing x Vaillante in the Var was not usurped by signing the second time at 0.344 seconds. Louis Delétraz completed the podium for Prema at 0.432 seconds. The session was marked by the misfortunes of Nielsen Racing even before the first flying laps, the No. 07 Oreca 24 – Gibson stopping in the grass after a problem with its right rear wheel. The British team will therefore start from the back of the grid. In LM P3, COOL Racing dominated the session with the #320 Ligier JS P17 – Nissan driven by Malthe Jakobsen. The Dane's fastest lap was 1:37.182.

In the GTE category, the best time went to Ahmah al Harthy on theAston Martin Vantage AMR n°69 of Oman Racing with TF Sport in 1:41.974, signing the first pole position for an Omani in the category in the championship ELMS. He beat Sarah Bovy on the Ferrari 488 GTE n°83 of the Iron Dames, back after being diagnosed positive for Covid-19 before the 6 Hour of Spa-Francorchamps in the WEC.
