4H. of Monza – Qualifying: Mathias Beche signs a new pole position

At 4H. of Monza, Mathias Beche confirms that he is one of the fastest drivers of the 2022 season of the European Le Mans Series. After taking pole position at Le Castellet, the Frenchman repeated this performance during the third round of the season. The TDS Racing x Vaillante driver beat Job van Uitert (Panis Racing) by 0.281 seconds and Pietro Fittipaldi (Inter Europol Competition) by 0.536 seconds. 

Note that for this round, TDS Racing x Vaillante, entered in LM P2 Pro-Am, is reunited for this round with its gentleman driver, Philippe Cimadomo. As a reminder, the latter had not been authorized to start the 24 Hours of Le Mans after an accident during testing and was replaced at the last minute by Nyck de Vries.

Malthe Jakobsen was the fastest in the LM P3 category with the #320 COOL Racing Ligier JS P17 – Nissan in 1:43.627, despite a red flag caused by his teammate Antoine Doquin. The Frenchman made a mistake in the Parabolica just over two minutes from the end of the LM P3 session with the No. 27 COOL Racing car. On his only flying lap, the Dane from the team beat Nico Pino (Inter Europol Competition) by almost eight tenths!

En LMGTE, Christian Ried a établi le temps de référence avec la Porsche 911 RSR – 19 n°77 de Proton Competition en 1:48.859. Le pilote allemand a devancé Sarah Bovy sur la Ferrari #83 Iron Dames at 0.246 seconds and Andrew Haryanto in the #911 Absolute Racing Porsche 19 RSR – 18 at 0.662 seconds.
