6H Imola: Rebellion aims for victory in LMS

After the beautiful sixth place achieved at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Rebellion Racing returns to the Le Mans Series and the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup. The Swiss team occupies second position in the LMS Teams classification, two points behind Pescarolo Team Autovision (who retired from the 24 Hours of Le Mans while leading the gasoline prototypes) and fourth place in the ILMC Championship, eight points behind. of Team Oreca who will be absent this weekend at Imola.

Rebellion thus arrives on Italian soil with a lot of ambition. The Swiss team will line up its two prototypes with an engine Toyota optimized since the Le Mans event. Neel Jani and Nicolas Cheers on the #12 Lola, and Andrea Belicchi and Jean-Christophe Boullion on the #13 will have the task of placing a gasoline prototype on the podium at the 6 Hours of Imola.

“The team made a real effort to get both cars ready for this race, insists Bart Hayden, the team manager of Rebellion Racing. The result at Le Mans was better than we expected. This memorable performance gives us more determination to win the LMS and secure our third place in the Teams ranking behind Peugeot and Audi (actually, fourth behind Oreca) to be the first private team in ILMC. »

Rebellion will have to rely on the racing circumstances to hope to get on the podium at the 6 Hours of Imola. With two Peugeot 908s and two Audi R18s, not to mention the presence of the No. 16 Pescarolo, a place in the top three will not be easy to achieve.
