Asian Le Mans Series – Poisenot, Race Director

Race Director 24 Hours of Le Mans For twelve years, Daniel Poissenot has been entrusted with a new mission by the Automobile Club de l?Ouest. The latter will in fact be the Director of the Asian Le Mans Series, the calendar of which was recently revealed in Shanghai (see here). “I appreciate the opportunity given to me to be the race director of the Asian Le Mans Series, admits the main person concerned. The Asian continent offers great prospects for motorsport and I am happy to contribute my experience to the development of this new and exciting series. The Le Mans spirit runs through my veins and I hope to be able to infuse a little of it into the Asian Le Mans Series.”

Daniel Poissenot's involvement at Le Mans dates back to 1988. Initially, responsible for the proper functioning and safety of the track, he became the race director for the last twelve editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. For ten years, he was deputy general director at the ACO, in charge of the Sports department. Daniel Poissenot was also race director for the first Asian Le Mans Series race in Okayama, Japan in 2009. “It is with great pleasure that we welcome Daniel Poissenot as race director of the Asian Le Mans Series, underlines Mark Thomas, Executive Director of S2M, promoter of the Asian Le Mans Series. His extensive experience at the global level and more particularly at the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be very beneficial to us in the successful management of this new series. We really want to set up a lasting event and I am convinced that Daniel can help us achieve this objective.”
