Big favorite and defending champion in Asian Le Mans Series, Oak Racing is a scarecrow this season. But the competition is not giving up, as evidenced by the pole position obtained by Eurasia Motorsport, which entered the second LM P2 in the field, on the Japanese circuit of Fuji. It was Richard Bradley who set the best time in qualifying in 1'34"495, and who was ten thousandths ahead of Oak Racing's Morgan, led by the Chinese Ho-Pin Tung, recently confirmed at China Racing in Formula E.
In the CN category, it was Craft-Bamboo Racing which took pole, after engine problems in free practice the day before. Mathias Beche beat the Wolf GB08 of Team Avelon by more than 3″. In GT, it is Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 n°90 from Team AAI, driven by Takeshi Tsuchiya who will start in the lead ahead of the BMW Z4 n°91 from the same team. Finally, note that two cars joined the Asian LMS pack for these qualifications, the Lamborghini Gallardos from Team Emperor Racing, in the GT-Am category.
