Boullion – Rebellion, successful beginnings

It was undoubtedly with a heavy heart that he left the Pescarolo Sport team during the off-season, which was more of a family than a team for him. Double Le Mans Series champion in 2005 and 2006 within the team of the quadruple winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Jean-Christophe Boullion joined the ranks of the Rebellion Racing team this year, formerly Speedy Racing team Sebah.

The former test pilot Williams en F1 this year shares the seat of a Lola B10/60 powered by a V10 Judd renamed Rebellion, with the Italian Andrea Bellichi. The duo receives, on certain occasions, the reinforcement of the winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2003, the Briton Guy Smith.

And the least we can say is that the integration of “Jules” went perfectly given his performances last weekend during the 8 Hours of Le Castellet. Fifth on the starting grid, the native of St Brieuc and his teammates completed a race without a false note, passing under the checkered flag in third position. The trio was simply beaten by the Audi R15 Plus and the Lola-Aston Martin.

“I’m delighted because I joined a new team this winter,
affirms the French pilot. The team prepared well for the race as we encountered no problems. We didn't hope to be on the podium after the practice sessions, we didn't have enough speed to be there. »

It was therefore with surprise that Jean-Christophe got on the podium. It now remains for the Swiss to work as much as possible to get closer to the leaders. Diesels will certainly remain inaccessible, but the Lola-Aston Martin is not very far ahead.
