Announced on the sidelines of the 4 Hours of Spa, the 2023 calendar of theELMS is experiencing upheaval. Initially scheduled for October 13 to 15, the 4 Hours of Portimão has been postponed by one week, from October 20 to 22. This change of program aims to avoid the clash of dates with Petit Le Mans (October 11-14, 2023). The organizers of the European Le Mans Series have thus found a solution to resolve this calendar conflict. The calendars of the support races such as the Ligier European Series and the Michelin Le Mans Cup are adjusted accordingly.

As a reminder, the big novelty of this year will be a round at MotorLand Aragón replacing Monza.

This second Spanish round of the calendar will have the particularity of ending at night, which will be a first in ELMS from Le Castellet in 2021. The times remain to be defined, but, according to our information, the race could take place from 18:30 p.m. to 22:30 p.m. What has already been decided is that this event will take place on Saturday evening at the end of a two-day format.

“We are very pleased to announce this exciting 2023 calendar for the European Le Mans Series, which includes a brand new circuit and night racing format for the ELMS at MotorLand Aragón, to present a new challenge for our teams and our pilots, declares Frédéric Lequien, general director of LMEM. The new calendar is an excellent mix of top European circuits. We look forward to seeing everyone next season in what will be a very special year for endurance racing. »

The other appointments on the calendar do not change in terms of location. The 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and the 4 Hours of Portimão will always close a season which will begin, this time, in Barcelona. The 4 Hours of Imola and the 4 Hours of Le Castellet will be the other stages of the ELMS in 2023.

ELMS 2023 Calendar:

April 19-20: pre-season testing in Barcelona

April 23: 4 Hours of Barcelona

May 7: 4 Hours of Imola

July 16: 4 Hours of Le Castellet

August 26: 4 Hours of Aragón

September 24: 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps

October 22: 4 Hours of Portimão
