Two races for the Road To Le Mans in 2017

The success of the first edition of the Road To Le Mans in 2016 allowed the ACO to revise its ambitions upwards for 2017. The number of LMP3s and GT3s will be increased to 46 compared to 42 in 2016 for the second round of the Michelin Le Mans Cup usually contested on the sidelines of theELMS. Competitors entered in this discipline will be automatically registered for the event.

It will no longer be one but two races which will be contested as a preamble to the 24 Hours of Le Mans (June 17 and 18). The first race will take place on Thursday June 15 at 17:30 p.m. while the start of the second will take place on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Each race will last 55 minutes with a mandatory crew of two drivers.

The two practice sessions of one hour each will take place on Wednesday June 14. Qualifying, in two 20-minute sessions, will take place the following day and will determine the starting grid for the two races.

A Gold or Silver driver will be able to participate in the Road To Le Mans if they accompany a Bronze driver. Each driver must ride for at least 20 minutes during the race. The second qualifying session will only be contested by Bronze drivers, but the choice will be free for the first session.
