ELMS – 26 cars expected at Paul-Ricard

We couldn't have dreamed of a better scenario. Before the European final Le Mans Series, which is being held this weekend on the Paul-Ricard circuit, the Thiriet by TDS Racing and Signatech teams Alpine share the leadership position in the general classification with 73 points each. Be careful though, with 18 units behind, the British team Jota Sport is still in the race.

For this grand final, which will be held during a joint meeting with the World Series by Renault, 26 cars are expected, namely eight LM P2s, two LM PCs, eight GTEs and eight GTCs. In the premier category, note the arrival of Swiss Marcello Marateotto on the No. 03 Oreca 34-Judd of the Race Performance team alongside his compatriot Michel Frey.

In LM PC, Frenchman Paul-Loup Chatin and Swiss Gary Hirsch are only two points short of taking the title. In GTE, Ram Racing is also favorite, but will have to be wary of Proton Competition. Finally, in GTC, it was the Russian team SMP Racing which took the lead after the 3 Hours of Hungaroring, an event which saw the triumph of Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 of Fabio Babini, Viktor Shaitar and Kirill Ladygin. But the #62 AF Corse Ferrari of the Rizzoli-Gai-Casé trio is only five points behind.

The program for the final of the European Le Mans Series breaks down as follows:

Friday 27 September:
10:20 p.m.-11:20 p.m.: Free practice 1
15:40 p.m.-16:40 p.m.: Free practice 2

Saturday September 28:
