ELMS – Giuliano Alesi tries his hand at LM P2

If he leaves for a third campaign in the GP3 Series, under the colors of Trident, will Giuliano Alesi indulge in the joys ofEndurance ? Nothing is less certain today, but the 18-year-old Frenchman, member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, this week at MotorLand Aragon (Spain), took the wheel of an Oreca 07 from TDS Racing.

As a reminder, Xavier Combet’s team must operate in ELMS the car bearing the number 26 registered under the G-Drive Racing banner, the crew of which has not yet been completely finalized. If Roman Rusinov and Jean-Eric Vergne will be there, Matthieu Vaxivière could give up his place. This association, which does not include any so-called amateur drivers (i.e. categorized as Bronze or Silver), was to fall within the framework of the new exemption that the ACO decided to grant this year. The fact remains that this should not constitute a sporting advantage, which would seem to be the case in the eyes of the governing bodies, who would judge the level of this crew to be too high and therefore might not accept it.

Note that the Swiss Alexandre Imperatori and the Frenchman Andrea Pizzitola also took the wheel of the No. 26.
