ELMS – Jonathan Hirschi joins Thiriet by TDS

The TDS test run in Endurance last season was a real masterstroke. The team won the championship with the Oreca 03 ELMS and Petit Le Mans, as well as a second place in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. With the departure of Mathias Beche to Rebellion, TDS had to find a replacement. The focus therefore fell on Jonathan Hirschi who knows the team well, as team manager Xavier Combet explains: “John is a driver we know well, together we won a place as European Vice Champion Megane Trophy in 2009. Since then we have always stayed in touch and followed his journey closely. We are proud to be able to work with him again this year! We know that John's top speed is an asset, especially with the new 3 Hour racing format in ELMS. In addition, Jonathan will have a teammate of choice Pierre Thiriet whom he knows well having raced with him in the Mégane. »

For Hirschi, returning to TDS brings new hope after two difficult years: “I hope to return to the good results of 2009 and 2010 which will allow me to forget the last two seasons which were mixed for me. Furthermore, for my 4th participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, achieving a good result will be the main objective. Racing in the Team that finished ELMS champion and 2nd at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2012 motivates me enormously! In addition, the ELMS field is very interesting with good drivers and good teams, the races promise to be exciting. »
